What we do

Second Moon is a New York City immersive theatre company that connects performers and audiences through participatory storytelling. Our live and remote experiences incorporate theatre, dance, roleplay, puzzle solving, and more, exploring the inner lives of characters faced with difficult and pivotal decisions. But whether about past choices, or paths not yet taken, our stories are really your stories, guided by your choices and the emotions that drive them.

Coming soon

Zadie Show Image.jpg

Twenty-two-year-old Zadie Hahn has gone missing. Her desperate parents have reached out to Tom Sabagnic, a private investigator and your boss, to help them. He has entrusted you with the case.

THE SEARCH FOR ZADIE HAHN is a remote immersive experience that explores the life of a young woman who has vanished without a trace. With the help of the Sabagnic Agency database and your wits, you will discover audio recordings and journal entries, contact people who may have important information, and work to uncover the truth.

When your experience begins, you will receive the case file and tips on how to start your search. Get to know Zadie as you sift through the pieces of her life. Experience her triumphs and setbacks, her dreams and secrets, as you work to land your first big case. How much time you spend looking and what you do with the information you find is up to you, but after a week, Tom will want your full report.

So, is this the job for you?

Who We Are

clifton-headshot.jpg

Founder / Creative Director

Clifton Fels

Clifton is a New York attorney and theatre producer. He grew up in Missoula, Montana writing fiction for whoever would read it. This effort culminated in the self-publishing of The Sad Case of Scramble Worthington and Other Stories, a collection of humorous vignettes read by at least twenty people. Clifton also acted, with much less success, playing the Sergeant in a production of The Madwoman of Chaillot, and Prosecutor in a self-produced play about recycling.

He has been drawn to immersive work because it is an artistic remedy to the isolation and atomization that is an all too common part of modern life. Even as our ability to communicate grows, we have, in so many ways, never been less connected. There is something electric about being part of a tangible experience. But even more importantly, as a participant in an immersive work, you are not just a hypothetical. You have agency. You are seen

In starting Second Moon Theatre Company, Clifton sought to create stories that connect performers and participants in a shared experience, where an individual person, with their own thoughts and feelings and choices, matters.

Clifton lives in Brooklyn with his wife and son, dog, and an unwieldy collection of board games.

Creative Director / Choreographer

Julia Jurgilewicz

Julia is a movement artist, choreographer, and theater producer from Brooklyn, NY. She grew up in Norton, MA, studying dance, musical theater, and acting. After graduating with a BFA in dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Julia performed with the Metropolitan Opera and danced with multiple contemporary companies including Erica Essner Performance Co-Op, The Anata Project, and Liz Gerring Dance.

Her first exposure to immersive theater came when she performed in projects with LEVYdance and Mark Dendy, and she immediately fell in love with the genre. Julia played the roles of Venus and the Older Daughter in The Grand Paradise by Third Rail Projects and performed more than 300 shows as White Queen and Doctor in their groundbreaking immersive work, Then She Fell. Julia has also facilitated and performed in LARP events like Sinking Ship Creations’ The Mortality Machine and Scapegoat.

Julia’s own choreography explores the fantastical realms of childhood imagination. Among other pieces, she choreographed and presented four works with RedCurrant Collective, including 2014’s Dust, a fantasy fiction dance adventure incorporating novelistic elements.

Julia’s passion is to connect with audiences through interactive performance that incorporates dance, storytelling, food, and everything in between.
